Like many independent companies, animators, and developers - we, here at fluidimages have been down the many road(s) - searching for the right indie engine, the best possible software packages and countless hours have been spent learning the best possible pipeline with an ultimate goal for increasing our skills and knowledge so that we can employ everything we know towards creation of small, fun, and exciting titles.
We are finally nearing the completion of our first indie Title - Robot Revolution. Our plan is to have it on Xbox Community Live for Christmas!
One of our initial goals was to develop our exciting titles for play on the Xbox 360 console, and with the delivery of Xbox Community Live and its exciting delivery capabilities - a vehicle for console delivery has been opened up for small indie companies like fluidImages Entertainment. we have used many engines, and tried our many technologies - and while not the most robust, best graphically, or the most flexible engine - we decided on Garage Games TorqueX. A simplistic C# wrapper, we were able to use their DTS pipeline and quickly create our first title.
Even with Robot Revolutions not even out the door - we have started the initial stages of bringing Toons of War back to life and plan on its delivery in the first quarter of 2009, so stay tuned.
